Did you know Little Bird Kids Yoga can come to you? I had my first in home private yoga session yesterday and it was wonderful! I’ll admit that I already knew the kids well. They’ve been attending my classes at Trilogy from the beginning but their schedules have gotten very busy and they couldn’t make the 4-5 pm class on Monday evenings anymore. I’m so glad we were able to work something out so the children could continue their yoga practice-which they are VERY enthusiastic about by the way! There are three children in this group and they each wanted to take turns teaching…so I let them! I was so impressed with the stretches they made up. With each pose we discussed if it was a balancing pose or a pose we needed to repeat on the other side of our bodies and we talked about where we were feeling the stretches in the body. It was amazing to see how much knowledge and body awareness these children have gained over the past several months! If you are interested in private lessons send me a message. Yesterday was so busy I didn’t have time to post about the first week of classes at CHUMCC.  I taught the preschoolers in the morning (10-11am) and the school aged kids in the afternoon (4:30-5:30).  Both groups were a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to next week’s classes!  As the children get more accustomed to the routines (taking off their shoes, checking in, singing our closing song etc) I know the class will be even more fun.  If you have a child at CHUMCC and want them to join the yoga class, it’s not too late.  There is still room in both classes-just ask me about prorating the tuition.  I will leave some business cards in the “Yoga” drawer located on the office counter if you want to call or email me. All love!

Little Bird Kids Yoga is now teaching at Petite Montessori in Long Beach.  Today was the first session and it was a real success!  I took the children on a hot air balloon ride, made them into pretzels and sang “Long Time Sun” I’m looking forward to our next adventure!  Thank you Petite Montessori!

I’m still teaching the class at Trilogy on Monday (Labor Day) from 4-5 pm…so take a break from the BBQ and bring your ‘lil ones down for an hour of yoga fun.  Looking forward to seeing my little yogini friends on the mat!

Join me this Saturday, August 25th @ 10am for a FREE kids yoga class on the grassy area across from Livingston Park in Long Beach. If there is a good turn out I will try to make this a more regular event. Donations will be accepted. Thank you for all the support!

I am on vacation this week so there will be no class today, Monday July 16th at Trilogy.  Classes will resume next Monday, July 23rd. 

Here are a few ideas for parents:  invite your child to “play” yoga with you.  They can be the teacher and lead you through the poses they know.  Ask them to teach you one of the songs we learned in class.  Perhaps you can go on a walking meditation today-think of three things to look for on your walk (something yellow, something round, something spiky) and walk silently.  Share what you found when the walk is complete.
